When the way you’ve always managed things stops working

Maybe you’re used to being the person who handles things.

You work. You parent. You show up for other people.

You make the list, solve the problem, push through the difficult season, and tell yourself you’ll catch up when life finally settles down.

But lately, the strategies that used to keep everything moving aren’t enough anymore.

Maybe you’re functioning just fine from the outside while privately wondering:

Why does everyday life require so much effort?

You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart before asking for support.

Maybe some of this sounds familiar

You find yourself thinking:

  • There aren’t enough hours in the day.

  • I know what I need to do. Why can’t I just do it?

  • Every time I start getting momentum, something happens and I lose it.

  • I can’t relax without thinking about everything I should be doing.

  • I don’t really feel like myself anymore.

Sometimes there is a clear turning point—a new job, a loss, becoming a parent, or simply one more demand added to a life that was already full. Other times, there isn’t.

You’ve just been managing for a long time.

And eventually, managing starts to feel like surviving.

Adult therapy may include support with ADHD, anxiety, depression, overwhelm and burnout, perfectionism, relationship stress. These concerns often overlap.

You don’t need to know exactly what belongs to what before coming in.

What does adult therapy with me look like?

My approach is warm, practical, collaborative, and down-to-earth.

You bring the expertise on your own life. I bring clinical experience, perspective, and tools we can draw from together.

Therapy with me is not about giving you another list of things you “should” be doing better.

We might work on:

  • Noticing a pattern before it takes over

  • Delegating instead of staying up late doing everything yourself

  • Responding differently when anxiety spikes

  • Setting a boundary without spending three days feeling guilty about it

  • Having fewer blowups at home

  • Figuring out what is actually yours to carry—and what might be shared

I want to understand your life before we start trying to change it.

From there, we can build changes that feel realistic for your actual life.

What progress can look like

Going to bed even though the to do list isn’t finished.

Making a decision without revisiting it twelve times.

Asking for help before you’re completely overwhelmed.

Recovering when the day doesn’t go according to plan.

Enjoying something without mentally reviewing what you “should” be doing instead.

Feeling less ruled by worry—and less critical of yourself.

And maybe, gradually:

Feeling more like the person you want to be.

You don’t have to know exactly what you need yet

Maybe you’ve been thinking about therapy for months. Maybe something shifted recently. Or maybe you simply know that the way things are going isn’t working anymore.

That’s enough to start.

A free 15-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk about what’s been happening, answer questions, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
